Dong Zuoji, Director of the Planning Department of the Ministry of Land and Resources, introduced that national level green mines have established nine conditions, including legal mining, environmental protection, and land reclamation. During the 13th Five Year Plan period, China is expected to achieve the development goal of establishing a basic pattern of green mines.
Dong Zuoji stated that by 2015, more than 600 pilot mines will be built, forming a standard system and supporting policy measures; From 2015 to 2020, we will comprehensively promote the pilot experience and achieve the overall goal of achieving green mining standards for large and medium-sized mines, regulating the management of small mining enterprises according to green mining conditions, and basically forming a national green mining pattern.
Chen Xianda, Vice President and Secretary General of the China Mining Association, said that both newly established and small-scale mines will face strict tests of green mining in the future. If the green mining standards for newly established mines cannot be met, it is impossible to approve them. The Ministry of Land and Resources is currently working on the integration and standardization of existing mining resources. Many small mines that do not have the conditions for green mining may be eliminated through the market and replaced by new entities. They will be purchased through equity participation.
